About the Author ~ Howard Nelson
Born in Coventry in 1945, he has had a life long interest in the story and the legend of RMS Titanic, the ship that purported to be unsinkable. For 40 years, initially as a childhood facination, then hobby, and more recently as a Author of “Titanic A Date to Remember.” A member of the UK, British and Belfast Titanic Society's.

“"I have followed the Titanic legend since the 1950’s when my Father took me to see ‘A Night to Remember’ at the Goumont Cinema in Coventry. The levels of interest in the vessel is as alive today as it was in 1912 when she sailed from Southampton. I set up a web site and I realised there are thousands of people in the UK and millions worldwide who are still captivated by the Titanic story".

“"During research for my book I had the pleasure to interview Millvina Dean (Titanic’s youngest survivor) in her home in Southampton. I spent many hours in Milvina and Bruno's company, the I started the interview with the best of intentions, I had a list of prepaired questions but soon discarded them when I became engrossed in Millvina's story". "I also Interviewed Philip Littlejohn, Grandson of Alexander Littlejohn 1st Class Steward Survived . And David Scot-Beddard, White Star Line collector and Historian”.

“ While carrying out my research I discovered that a friend of mine, who I had known for 20 years , was actually the Grandson of Stoker Ernest Allen”".

"As the momentum gathers towards the year 2012 and Titanic's 100th Anniversary, I hope to continue to update the Diary".
